Gal-A-Palooza Women's Expo

Benicia In Bloom

March 27th 11a.m. -5 p.m.

The annual Spring Open House celebrates the "greener" side of spring with demonstrations from our eco-friendly partners. Merchants, Restaurants and Businesses showcase the latest trends for spring 2010.

Farmers Market

Last Thursday of April through end of October, 4-8 p.m.

Benicia Main Street draws many people to its popular Farmers Market. The Market offers fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, gourmet food, delicious hot foods, arts and crafts, live musical entertainment, pony rides, face painting.

First Fridays on First

Every first Friday of the month, April through November, 6-9 p.m.

Follow the colorful flags down First Street where shops and restaurants offer festivities and prize drawings. A wide variety of musical styles by various bands can be enjoyed at different locations on First Street. An outdoor movie at dusk caps off the festivities.

Marché Benicia

June 12th 11-4.

Bon Jour, Benicia! An outdoor marketplace with a French flair! Featuring food, wine & entertainment at the Waterfront Promenade. C'est Tres Bien!

Freedom Festival

Torchlight Parade - July 3rd, 6:30 p.m.

Benicia's Independence Day parade stretches along First Street and includes music, dancers, floats, horse's clowns, and entertainment.

Picnic in the Park & Fireworks

July 4th, 12 noon-7 p.m.

This event is a wonderful way to spend the 4th! Benicia's City Park is filled with arts and crafts, delicious hot food, live entertainment and children's activities. Fireworks start about 9 p.m. at the foot of First Street making this a great event for the whole family.

Benicia Fine Art & Jazz Festival

July 24th, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and July 25th 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Carquinez Straits provide the picturesque backdrop for two days of live performances by top jazz musicians from the Bay Area and around the country, juried fine art marketplace, delectable gourmet food, refreshing wine and beer area, and kids art activity area.

Taste of First Street

September 21st 6-9p.m.

Autumn brings a sampling of the cuisine from Benicia's favorite restaurants on First Street with two glasses of wine & a souvenir glass for $35. First Street Merchants showcase their  tasteful treasures with a complimentary drawing.

Fashion Weekend

Friday & Saturday, October 8th & 9th

A weekend focused on fabulous fashion! The weekend includes displays, demonstrations, trunk shows and runway fashion shows.

Sorcerer Saturday

Saturday, October 16th, 12.-5p.m.

Join in this family-friendly celebration of Sorcerers, Witches and Warlocks! The day will welcome the magic and mystery of October with vendors, activities and special brews for adults!

Haunted Depot

October 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th & 31st

The normally mild-mannered Southern Pacific Railroad Depot has been mysteriously transformed into a frightful depository of ghosts, goblins and spirits daring you and your family to pay a visit.

Halloween Costume Contest and Sidewalk Stroll

Saturday, October 30th, 10 a.m.

Benicia Main Street offers a great time for kids of all ages during the popular Halloween costume contest and sidewalk stroll. The local merchants on First Street get into the spirit of the holiday for all to shop and enjoy. At noon there will be a canine costume contest on the First Street Green with prizes and treats.

Downtown Holiday Shopping Spree

November 5th - December 2nd

A drawing for a Downtown Benicia Shopping Spree valued at $500 in Downtown Dollars. For every $10 that you spend at participating merchants, you will receive one ticket for the drawing. The drawing will take place on December 4th, the evening of the Merchant Holiday Open House.

Earlier Than The Bird!

Saturday, November 20th 7 a.m.-10 a.m.

Jump out of bed, stay in your pajamas and grab your friends and family to get a head start on your Holiday shopping! Register your "Wish List" at participating businesses and they will send a copy to your designated "Santa."

Teddy Bear Tea Party

Sunday, November 28th & Sunday, December 5th

Camellia Tea Room and Benicia Main Street invite you to bring your teddy bear and join in the festivities at 828 First Street. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 746-5293.

Holiday Open House

Friday, December 3rd, 6-9 p.m.

First Street merchants along with Benicia Main Street host this ever-popular open house at the beginning of the Christmas Season. Merchants offer beverages and treats and show off their holiday goods while costumed carolers sing traditional Christmas Music. Live entertainment, wagon rides, and wine tasting add a festive atmosphere to this family event.

Burgers Brew & Bling

Thursday, December 9th 6-9 p.m.

Guys get a helping hand from First Street businesses this holiday season. This men's shopping night helps these "Santas" shine!

Christmas Parade & Holiday Market

Saturday, December 11th 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. at First and D Street and ends at H Street. The parade features local bands, dancers, and the much-anticipated Santa Claus. The Holiday Market features juried fine artists, gourmet items and delicious foods.

It's A Wrap!
